STORY
A musical note that embellishes the harmony or a melody of a song, grace note has become more than just a small and insignificant part of the music world. For Gracenote, the band that is, every performance is a distinct and remarkable experience for their audience.
Gracenote consists of Eunice, Jazz, and EJ. Bassist Jazz joined the band after Gracenote’s original bassist left the band. From performing in minor productions and winning various band competitions, Gracenote caught the eye of Soupstar Entertainment’s Darwin Hernandez, after performing with 6cyclemind in the 2008 Nescafe Soundskool.
A few school concerts and events later, Gracenote finally landed a contract with Soupstar Entertainment, a prestigious artist management company handling Sandwich, 6cyclemind, and Callalily, among its roster. Vocalist Eunice gave her band a head start, playing violin for BBS and taking part in their live performances. She has appeared in numerous TV guestings such as ASAP Rocks, Kris TV, Myx Live with BBS and Kean Cipriano, and has performed during the 2011 Myx VJ Search Grand Finals.
With a new management and a clearer vision, the band has released their debut 8-track EP album “First Movement”, produced by 6cyclemind’s Rye Sarmiento, with the carrier single, “Minsan Lang Naman”. The album is under Soupstar Music and distributed by Universal records. The video for their first single, “Minsan Lang Naman”, directed by Jay Pacena highlights Gracenote’s heartfelt lyrics and melody. Gracenote’s first movement proves to be a success as “Minsan Lang Naman” has entered the PinoyMyx Countdown. Moreover, their single “Pwede Ako” featuring Kean Cipriano peaks at #2 at PinoyMyx Countdown. Their second single Stop! Stop! from the same album also entered the Myx Daily Top Ten.
They have been honored to perform as front act to international artists’ concerts here in the Philippines such as Nelly Furtado and Second hand Serenade.
Individually, Eunice also ventured in a special project with Kean Cipriano where they gave their own take to classics such as “Never My Love”, “Don’t let me be Lonely tonight”, “Islands in the Stream” among others under the album “Kean & Eunice: Happy Together – a Trip down memory lane”. The album even came to life through a musical concert featuring all the songs in the album last October 2014 at The Music Museum.
AT PRESENT …
2015 saw the release of Gracenote’s 1st song in their follow-up album with a refreshingly new feel to their sound with “I Will Wait” which saw them working together with Chynna Ortaleza. The official music video, directed by Callalily’s Kean Cipriano, entered the Myx Daily Top Ten.
Their much awaited 2nd album, Transparent, has been released this 2016 digitally under Warner Music and physically distributed by Universal Records. The album’s second single “Two Four” is doing well in radio airplays and in MYX Pinoy hit charts.
With their energetic performances, Gracenote captivates audiences live and through social networking sites, Youtube and Facebook. Pouring their hearts out on every composition, song, and performance, Gracenote is sure to make their mark among fans and music critics alike as the next hottest act of this generation!
